A Korean girl (Soo Hyun) falls for an American man, but he turns out to be a fraud. The girl runs away from home to live with her cousin (played by Shin Doo), who is obsessed with getting her back. She has to go through a lot of ordeals and problems to get him back, while also keeping up her own life. She has to take care of a sickly baby and a handicapped old man at the same time.

An American doctor tries to help the girl to bring her memory back. The two end up fighting, and she ends up going crazy. The doctor ends up taking the baby away from her and is told not to contact her ever again. She goes nuts, thinking she's going mad.

This girl is seen by various people over the course of the film. We see her at a party, at a baseball game, at a Chinese restaurant. However, it isn't until she's on her death bed that we learn the truth about her. In order to save her life, she has to watch the man who nearly killed her in a car accident, and end up loving him even more than her husband.

The man who loved the girl so much ends up dying of a heart attack. He leaves her a huge fortune as a will, but instructing her to keep it secret. She gets a new job as a nurse, caring for a young woman (Nancy Botnick) who has been injured badly in a train accident. She tells her boyfriend (Chadwick Bailey) about her past. They become fast friends and end up having an affair. Things quickly become better between them, but then the woman becomes very suspicious of the new man.
