Q1 Quarterly Intelligence Report
Dynadot's Q1 2026 Quarterly Intelligence Report is no longer completely current now that the second quarter has ended, but its figures still offer a useful view of recent domain registration trends. The report points to strong overall growth while also showing how preferences differ between regions, customer groups, and domain extensions.
Total registrations on Dynadot increased by 40% year over year. Several extensions with relatively low introductory prices recorded particularly strong growth, including .digital, .info, .pro, and .sbs. Despite the expansion of these alternatives, .com continued to lead the platform by registration volume, growing 9% from the previous year.
The geographic distribution of registrations was also notable. Asia represented 46% of Dynadot's registrations, making it the largest regional market in the report. Europe accounted for 24%, while North America represented 23%. However, the growth rates were substantially different: Asia increased by 5%, while Europe grew by 147% and North America by 63%. These numbers illustrate how domain demand can develop differently across markets.
Customer behaviour also varied depending on the purpose of the registration. Among domain investors, .com remained the leading choice, followed by .top, .info, and .vip. Retail customers also preferred .com, but .digital and .sbs ranked next. This separation provides some insight into how investors and end users evaluate different domain extensions.
The secondary domain market remained strongly concentrated around .com. During Q1, .com represented 77% of Dynadot's aftermarket activity and increased 54% year over year. The next-largest extension, .org, accounted for 5% of aftermarket activity. This indicates that despite the growing number of available extensions, .com continues to represent a large share of domain trading activity.
